Lampard Unsettled As 3 Injury Problems Are Confirmed Ahead Of Crystal Palace

After losing 3-2 against West Ham, Chelsea bounced back with a 3-0 win against Watford.

But ahead of the Crystal Palace game on Tuesday, Frank Lampard’s Blues have confirmed three injury problems to Fikayo Tomori, Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante.

While Tomori and Kovacic have been absent for some time, Kante was injured in the Watford match. On their club website, Chelsea report:

There are doubts over the fitness of Fikayo Tomori and Mateo Kovacic, both of whom missed our weekend win over Watford with muscle and Achilles injuries respectively, as well as Kante, who came off late in that game feeling a tight hamstring.

Perhaps the biggest question mark is whether Lampard will recall Jorginho to the team.

Jorginho hasn’t featured for Chelsea since the restart, and it’s not exactly clear why.

Ross Barkley will expect to retain his starting spot after scoring against Watford, while Mason Mount or Billy Gilmour could fill in the third midfield slot.

Out wide, Willian should be assured of a place on the right wide following his 3 goals in 2 games.

Christian Pulisic also seems sure to start on the left after his recent impressive performances.
